Key things we are about

Growing confidence

Through developing listening, speaking and leadership skills.

A safe place to practise

It does not matter what your skill level is, only that there is something you want to work on. Our goal at meetings is to learn and have fun while doing so.

An encouraging community

Our members and guests come from a variety of age groups, professional and cultural backgrounds, and skill levels.

A bit more about us

Onehunga Toastmasters aims to create a positive atmosphere of learning, fun and community. Our members are real people interested in developing their communication and leadership abilities, in an atmosphere that helps them gain confidence in public speaking while fostering personal and professional growth.

Onehunga Toastmasters was chartered by Toastmasters International on 4 June 2004. It continues to thrive today thanks to the community vibe, members each bringing their own personality, and a small team of members volunteering as the club’s Executive Committee.

Visitors welcome. No experience necessary.

You are most welcome to visit Onehunga Toastmasters and observe — or take part — in our meetings before deciding to join.

Our members are highly diverse: all ages, all levels of experience, and from many different walks of life. It makes for a great learning environment.

When and where do we meet?

Arrive: 6:45pm – 6:50pm

Meeting starts: 7:00pm sharp

Venue: Room 7, Onehunga Community House, 83 Selwyn Street, Onehunga (next to Onehunga Primary School)

How often: fortnightly, every second Wednesday

A fun point of difference
We reckon we have the best journey of arrival of any Toastmasters club venue. Enjoy the cultural walk through the building as you make your way to the meeting room.

Finding us — it is a bit of a maze

Enter from the main carpark entrance on Selwyn Street, follow the corridor all the way through past the Museum, up through the building, and Room 7 is on the left. If you get lost, just ask anyone inside — they will point you our way.

Why Toastmasters?

Hear what members from around the world love about their Toastmasters experience.

What is Pathways?

Pathways is the Toastmasters education programme. Every new member starts with the Ice Breaker, the first speech of Level 1, and works through a path at their own pace. You choose the path that fits what you want to get better at.
